With each step forward, we leave one behind
With each breath in, we let one out
With each blink of the eye, there is a new image
With each waking morning, there is a new day
And with each dusk, the day is past
Everyday life is showing us how to let go
Would we be able to get anywhere if we were to hold on and retrace all of the steps we have taken in our lives?
Wouldn't our lungs implode if we held on to each breath we sipped in?
Wouldn't we go blind if we refused to shut our lids to hold on to a certain vision?
Is it possible to keep the sun from setting on the best day of our lives?
If so, if it happened to be the worst day, would we suffer in eternity?
Nature lets go.
The natural course is to let go.
So why try so hard to hold on?
It takes so much energy and creates so much suffering
and imprisons us in the illusory purgatory of the past
Remember and practice
in each step, each breath, each blink of an eye, each new day and night
Let go
With each breath in, we let one out
With each blink of the eye, there is a new image
With each waking morning, there is a new day
And with each dusk, the day is past
Everyday life is showing us how to let go
