Full Moon
Open, broad, clear
Bright
But not harsh or burning like the sun
Subtle, soft, tender is the moon
Lighting the way gently
Eyes not forced to squint and turn away
But relaxing in their sockets, pupils dilating to let in the light
illuminating the eyes, the mind, the heart
The tides slow down,
come closer to the earth,
hug at its edges, envelop it
She is not self centered like the sun
She is giving,
following us
circling us,
protecting us,
watching over us
Tempering the darkness when the sun is gone
Always present
Even in the subtle background of the sun's dominance
Slowly she turns her gaze
revolving toward the other side of herself
Halfway
showing us that light and darkness exist in balance
one cannot be without the other
She revolves around, her back turned to us
not in apathy or indifference
but with the understanding that in darkness the moon is also full
facing the other side of the wholeness
Always changing and moving
teaching us not to hold on to one face or the other,
but to accept and embrace it all
to give into the perpetual flux
of perfection and fullness
Open, broad, clear
Bright
But not harsh or burning like the sun
Subtle, soft, tender is the moon
Lighting the way gently
Eyes not forced to squint and turn away
But relaxing in their sockets, pupils dilating to let in the light
illuminating the eyes, the mind, the heart
